I did of a gaffed rigged sailboat when I first moved to Rhode Island and I was living aboard Pete's beautiful cabin cruiser “Koala” The drawing was a hit and I used it for my logo and later produced t shirts and note cards from this design. At that time the states logo was “Rhode Island The Ocean State”. Learning about my new home, I believe they said there was 2,000 square feet of beach for each person living in the State of RI. There was an average of 3-4 feet of snow per winter. The tides were 3-4 feet (verses 10 feet) in Gloucester Ma, I found the people friendly and that they would go out of their way to help a stranger if needed.
