I first was impressed by this large owl at the zoo. I later lived in the woods in Rock port Massachusetts, and could hear the “hoot” of owls at night. I went to Cape Cod at one point and drew a pine tree, I could imagine this would be a great tree for the Great horned owl to perch, so I included it in this design. It is a native to the America's and is nocturnal so it is only out at night. The great horned owl's call is a low-pitched but loud “ho-ho-hoo hoo hoo” Their eyes are slightly smaller than the eyes of a human being and large even for an owl they act as a telephoto lens so this allows them to see a great distance.
